The city has applied to the DWSRLF for a new water reservoir within Eddy County, New Mexico. The DWSRLF funding may come from the following sources: Federal Capitalization grants(FS-99692525 and/or future awards); Bipartisan Infrastructure Law Supplemental Capitalization Grant(4D-02F18901 and/or future awards); and/or Tier II funds (recycled principal and interest payments back to the DWSRLF). The proceeds would be used to finance the design, bidding process, and construction costs of a new five-million-gallon water reservoir, piping, a headwall structure, site grading, and on-site and off-site drainage. The new reservoir will help the City of Carlsbad meet water demands by increasing water storage capacity. The new reservoir will be placed adjacent to the existing Sheep’s Draw Reservoir#4 and will connect to the existing 30-inch transmission line.
