A. Laboratory Test and Analysis 1) Contractor shall submit samples for off-site laboratory testing(s) utilizing a Chain of Custody Form. A Sample Chain of Custody form is included as Attachment 3.A. 2) The following laboratory tests shall include: a) Asbestos Testing i. Polarized Light Microscopy (PLM) ii. Phase Contrast Microscopy (PCM) iii. Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) b) Mold Testing i. Air Samples ii. Fungal Screen iii. Swab, Bulk, Water Culturing c) Lead Testing i. Flame Atomic Absorption (AA) ii. Total Threshold Limit Concentration (TTLC) iii. Toxic Characteristic Leaching Procedure (TCLP) iv. Soluble Threshold Limit Concentrations (STLC) v. X-ray Fluorescence Spectroscopy (XRF) 3) Laboratory analytical reporting shall be completed the day/night samples are collected and as described in the “Turn-Around Time” section of the required Chain of Custody Form. 4) Industry standard turn-around times for certain laboratory analyses may vary due to sample type, testing method, and lab capacity. Unless otherwise specified by Caltrans Contract Manager, the expected turn-around time for sample analysis is no more than seven (7) business days.
