The scope of work includes site preparation, soil amendment, planting of 510 street trees, and a 90-day maintenance period. The City has procured all trees to be planted under this contract. It is the responsibility of the selected contractor to coordinate and complete tree tagging at the designated nurseries. The three nurseries, located within Los Angeles and Riverside Counties, will be disclosed to the contractor upon contract award. Tree tagging is included in the scope of work and must be completed within 14 calendar days from the date specified in the Notice to Proceed. The contractor shall inspect and confirm that each tagged tree is in healthy condition and suitable for planting and establishment. If the nursery is unable to provide healthy, planting-ready trees, the contractor shall immediately notify the City. The contractor will be responsible for the replacement of any tagged tree found to be in poor condition at the time of delivery or installation. Once tagging is completed, the trees will be delivered to a City-owned property near the project site, where the contractor may store them as needed throughout the installation period. The contractor shall perform the planting of all trees as specified in the Technical Specifications, Plans, and in accordance with City Standards. The 90-day plant establishment and maintenance period shall commence immediately following the installation of each tree. During this period, the contractor shall: · Water each tree a minimum of once per week for the full 90-calendar-day duration, in accordance with the specific requirements and specifications of each tree species. · Inspect and maintain mulch and soil conditions to promote adequate moisture retention and protect root systems. · Ensure all planting activities and associated materials remain intact and undisturbed throughout the maintenance period. The contractor shall regularly document and report any issues related to tree health or planting conditions and implement corrective measures as necessary to ensure the successful establishment of all trees.
