Georgia Tech requires the service of Professional Engineering firms (Consultant) to supplement its in-house capabilities for the production of studies, design documents for renovation of existing buildings and infrastructure requiring the services of professionally registered engineers. This category includes primarily mechanical, electrical, and plumbing services but may also require, but is not limited to, civil and acoustical engineering support services. Projects include, but are not limited to the design, evaluation, and planning of new, renovated or existing teaching and research labs, general use administrative offices, academic learning environments, residence halls, or process systems in existing Georgia Tech buildings and utility work on the Georgia Tech campus. Design of information technology, audio visual, and network systems may be performed in-house by Georgia Tech and integrated by the Consultant into the construction documents.
