Semi-Annual Inspection of the Fire Alarm System: Testing will be scheduled in advance and at the convenience of facility staff. Vendor will semi-annually inspect the Honeywell Prog system. Vendor is required to semi-annually inspect, test, maintain, and provide repair and maintenance for the fire alarm systems, their initiating devices and notification appliances in accordance with the most recent edition of the NFPA72 (also referred to as the National Fire Protection Association’s National Fire Alarm Code) and any other codes or standards adopted by the Office of the State Fire Marshal in 41 IL Adm. Code 100 (Fire Prevention and Safety Rules). Vendor shall ensure compliance with all applicable codes and industry standards related to the maintenance of the fire alarm system. Vendor must be able to perform programming for all installed fire alarm systems. Peripheral Device Testing: Smoke detectors shall be functionally tested using a smoke generator, punk stick or other method acceptable to the manufacturer. Any canned aerosol smoke that leaves an oily residue will not be used for testing of smoke detectors and will not be used for functional testing. No device that uses open flame or acrid smoke will be used to test smoke detectors. Heat Detectors, both rate of rise and fixed temperatures, shall be tested with a device that administers accurate and controlled temperature heat source. Manual pull stations shall be activated to verify operation, inspect electrical contacts, and ensure secure mounting.
