1. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE PREQUALIFIED WITH THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (FDOT) IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 2 - PROPOSAL REQUIREMENTS AND CONDITIONS OF THE FDOT STANDARDSPECIFICATIONS FOR ROAD AND BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION OR AS APPROVED BY LEON COUNTY SCHOOLS2. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY UTILITY OWNERS THROUGH SUNSHINE STATE ONE CALL OF FLORIDA, INC. (1-800-432-4770) AT LEAST 48 HOURS PRIOR TO BEGINNING ANY EXCAVATION OR CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES. 3.PRIOR TO ANY CONSTRUCTION, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL LOCATE AND PROTECT ALL EXISTING UTILITIES, BOTH PUBLIC AND PRIVATE, WITHIN THE PROJECT LIMITS. COORDINATION WITH UTILITY OWNERS IS REQUIRED FOR ANY RELOCATIONS OR PROTECTIONS NEEDED. 4. EXTREME CAUTION SHALL BE USED WHEN INSTALLING ALL FENCE POSTS, SIGNAGE, AND OTHER GROUND-PENETRATING ITEMS TO AVOID DAMAGING UNDERGROUND UTILITIES. 5. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL NOT BRING HAZARDOUS MATERIALS ONTO THE SITE WITHOUT PRIOR WRITTEN APPROVAL FROM THE PROJECT ADMINISTRATOR. IF SUCH MATERIALS ARE NECESSARY, A MATERIAL SAFETY DATA SHEET (MSDS) SHALL BE SUBMITTED FOR REVIEW. PROPERLY CONTAINED PETROLEUM PRODUCTS USED FOR EQUIPMENT OPERATION DO NOT REQUIRE MSDS SUBMITTALS. 6. IF ANY HAZARDOUS OR SUSPECTED MATERIALS ARE ENCOUNTERED, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL IMMEDIATELY STOP WORK IN THE AREA AND NOTIFY THE PROJECT ADMINISTRATOR. THE AREA SHALL BE SECURED AND ISOLATED UNTIL FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS ARE PROVIDED. 7. IF DEWATERING, WELL-POINTING, OR SURFACE WATER PUMPING IS REQUIRED, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE IN ADVANCE WITH THE PROJECT ADMINISTRATOR. ADDITIONAL PERMITTING MAY BE REQUIRED BASED ON THE METHOD PROPOSED.
