The City of Burlington (City) is seeking a licensed architect or design firm (Consultant) to evaluate the usability of the current library facility and provide recommendations for modest updates that align with our growing user base and library service needs. The Library Reconfiguration and Refresh Project (Project) aims to improve the library’s layout and functionality, ensuring it can continue to meet the evolving informational and enrichment needs of the community. Produced by the successful Consultant, the project plan will support sustainable service delivery based on current staffing levels; a focus on the library as a hub of civic engagement and as Burlington’s “living room”; and emphasis on the space as an environment for reading, research, and enrichment for diverse individuals and groups. The City is interested in updating and replacing interior finishes and flooring, reconfiguring existing shelving and furniture, acquiring new furniture, and potentially making modest physical and technological improvements to the facility
