The City of Sacramento (City) is seeking expressions of interest from a professional restaurant operator or operators to provide food and beverage service in a waterfront restaurant, with opportunities for an additional point of sale, located on the Embarcadero (Steamers Building Walk-up Café #I251411001) in the Old Sacramento Waterfront (OSW), a district of downtown Sacramento and the region’s top tourist attraction. In addition to seeking expressions of interest for restaurant concepts, the City will also consider proposals for other high quality, revenue generating concepts for the waterfront building such as entertainment, theatre and music. The waterfront building, formerly occupied by Rio City Café and with a street address of 1110 Front Street, is a key component of the planned renovation and activation of Old Sacramento. The City has committed $25 million toward capital improvements throughout the district. The City recently completed an $8 million renovation of the waterfront Embarcadero boardwalk, adjacent to the building, and has invested $5 million in American Rescue Act Plan Funding in the OSW, to further enhance to appearance of the area.
