The South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles (SCDMV) is seeking to replace the agency’s current IT system with a comprehensive, highly secure, customer-centric system. The system will aid the agency in performing its responsibilities to administer state and federal motor vehicle and identity laws; deliver essential motor vehicle and driver-related products and services to individuals and businesses in South Carolina; and authenticate, manage, and secure citizen’s identities to safeguard customer identity information from unauthorized access. The revenues collected, reconciled, and distributed from SCDMV’s performance of these functions provides an indispensable catalyst to state government operations throughout South Carolina.
