This project will install two dual-port charging cabinets capable of charging up to four buses simultaneously. The associated infrastructure improvements will include the installation of a new 2500- amp PG&E metered service and distribution board, a PG&E transformer, and underground circuits to supply power to the charging cabinets. The scope of work also encompasses trenching, construction of concrete footings, site work, installation of protective bollards, and all other ancillary equipment and improvements necessary to support the charging infrastructure. All work must comply with the UC Campus Design Guide as well as applicable state and local codes. A portion of the project costs may be funded through the California EnergIIZE Grant program. To be eligible, the installation contractor must meet the EVITP installer requirements as specified by the EnergIIZE program. Additionally, the contractor is responsible for obtaining any necessary certifications or installer qualifications required by the charging equipment manufacturer to activate and transfer the equipment for ongoing operations, maintenance, and billing. It is the contractor’s responsibility to research these requirements before submitting a bid and to bear all associated costs, responsibilities, and schedule impacts related to obtaining these qualifications.
