The Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD or District) is seeking competitive proposals from qualified firms to provide, implement and support a commercially available, secure, cloud-based software application that facilitates the online management of school records requests for current and/or former LAUSD students. The District has accumulated a vast amount of student records since its founding. The ODA has initiated a project to digitize all available and previously unconverted student records (e.g., transcripts, graduation verification, disciplinary actions, immunization and attendance records). The precise number of records will not be known until the digitization is complete. The software solution sought by this proposal must have the capacity to efficiently manage the frequent, large volume of virtual records requests from former students, parents/guardians and various third parties, in accordance with federal and state privacy laws. Proposing firms must demonstrate expertise and success implementing and supporting records management and retrieval software solutions for fee-based records requests. The contract awarded for this system shall include revenue sharing between the Contractor and the District, with no cost outlay by the District (e.g., for services or infrastructure).
