Project area is delineated as one (1) stand as follows: o THSF Mechanical Raking for Groundcover Restoration: 160 acres • All work must be performed as scheduled with the Contract Manager or Florida Forest Service (FFS) Representative. • Unless otherwise approved by the FFS, all work should be completed by September 30, 2025. • No materials, labor, or equipment will be furnished by FFS. • All longleaf pines, regardless of diameter, are to be left undamaged. • All loose stems regardless of diameter are to be rotary raked/piled. • Retain dead standing trees and other snags unless they present a safety hazard. • Soil disturbance and rutting is to be kept to a minimum. Contract manager will halt raking operations if excessive rutting occurs and move the Contractor to another area if possible. • Piles must not exceed twenty (20) feet in height and sixty-six (66) feet in diameter. • Piles should contain woody debris and trees only. Soil content should be minimal. • The site boundaries and area to be raked/piled will be scheduled and identified by a FFS representative with the Contractor. Contractor must have GPS equipment capable of accepting shapefile uploads of area boundaries. • The Contract Manager or FFS representative will make the determination as to when the soil and weather conditions are sufficient for work to begin and when to halt raking/piling operations due to extremely hot and dry, or extremely wet conditions.
