All proposers shall be required to provide the full day UPK services in accordance with the District’s pre-kindergarten program plan, Education Law and the regulations of the Commissioner of Education. The UPK services shall (1) implement prekindergarten curricula aligned with New York State learning standards, (2) ensure continuity with instruction in early elementary grades, and (3) be integrated with the instructional program in grades one through twelve. The UPK services provided by the successful proposer shall: • Provide for an age and developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities which are learner centered and aligned to the Pre-Kindergarten Next Generation Learning Standards in ELA and Mathematics; • Provide for an assessment of the development of language, cognitive and social skills; • Ensure continuity in the program with instruction in the early elementary grades; • Encourage children to be self-assured and independent; • Encourage the co-location and integration of children with special needs; • Support transition and continuity with the School District's K-5 program; • Utilize staff who meet the qualifications set forth pursuant to the rules of the Board of Regents; • Provide for strong parental partnership and involvement in the implementation of and participation in the plan; • Ensure parents have ease of utilization and access to services;
