Pre-Employment Medical Examinations Conduct comprehensive physical examinations for all new hire candidates, including: o General physical assessment o Audio screening o Drug screening (regulated and non-regulated, including breath alcohol testing and rapid screening) o Tuberculosis (TB) screening test o If TB test results are positive, a chest X-Ray will be required for further evaluation prior to hire o Any additional screenings as requested by the City’s Human Resources Department b. Public Safety Pre-Employment Evaluations In addition to the general pre-employment medical examinations, candidates for public safety positions will undergo enhanced physical evaluations to ensure fitness-for-duty, including: o In-depth physical fitness testing o Additional job-specific functional capacity testing, as required to determine suitability for the physical demands of the position c.
