The Work generally consist(s) of: Performance of hazardous building material surveys; complete removal and disposal of asbestos containing and hazardous building materials; removal, characterization, and disposal/recycling of universal and containerized wastes; structural evaluations and designs by a State of Connecticut licensed structural professional engineer; supply and installation of all temporary structural supports designed by a State of Connecticut licensed structural professional engineer to maintain the structural integrity of the building during the Work; supply, installation, and maintenance of temporary controls and facilities; traffic control; demolition and disposal of former boiler room and loading dock; excavation and disposal of PCB impacted soil; interior demolition; removal and disposal of PCB impacted building materials including, but not limited to, flooring, columns, beams, roofs and roofing materials, doors, elevator doors, elevator cab, windows, plaster, gypsum boards, and rafters; removal and disposal of PCB impacted concrete slabs and piers/footings; scarification of PCB impacted concrete slabs; media blasting of PCB impacted interior surfaces and collection and disposal of the media blasting waste; excavating, cleaning, and removal of an underground storage tank; backfilling and compacting excavations; replacement of roofing systems and masonry work to replace the roofing systems; installation of new concrete piers/footings; installation and replacement of new columns and beams and masonry work to install the beams; installation and replacement of timber decking; masonry work to repair sections of perimeter building walls; installation of temporary stairs to access all levels of the building; and transportation and disposal/recycling of generated materials during the Work.
