The one-time disposal of scrap parts, metals, and materials at the City of Ames Power Plant Coal Yard, 305 E 3rd Street, Ames, IA 50010 and the Coal Ash Ponds, located near 1000 E 13th Street. The Contractor shall furnish containers suitable for the collection of heavy industrial scrap metals and provide any necessary equipment for moving and loading the scrap metals. Materials expected include, but are not limited to: grinding balls, mill liners, rollers, pipes, fittings, grinding rings, and other scrap from decommissioned coal-fired systems. Metals may include steel, high-chrome alloys, Ni-Hard, VAM-20, copper, and brass. While the City has identified potential materials and metals, it is the Contractor's responsibility to determine and verify the specific scrap being collected to ensure proper handling, sorting, and pricing.
