1. Attend all City Council and EDA meetings, as well as Council work sessions and advisory commission meetings as requested. Council meetings are held the second and fourth Monday of the month beginning at 6:00 p.m. EDA meetings are held the second Monday of the month beginning at 5:00 p.m. Occasional attendance at Council work sessions will be requested. Council work sessions are held the first Monday of the month at 6:00 p.m. 2. Advise Mayor, Council Members, City Administrator, Department Heads and other staff on city legal matters. 3. Draft and review ordinances, resolutions, and correspondence, as requested. 4. Review Council and Planning Commission agendas, staff reports and minutes as requested. Directly prepare select agenda items for City Council meetings. 5. Prepare and/or review municipal contracts, agreements, and/or leases concerning public improvements such as development agreements, joint powers of agreements, construction, telecommunication leases and purchase of equipment. 6. Participate in meetings and discussions as requested to provide legal analysis, options, and risk assessment of specific subject matters. 7. Respond to City staff’s day-to-day inquiries in a timely manner. 8. Assist staff in processing licensing violations, administrative fines and suspensions, public nuisance abatements, including implementation of administrative review procedures. 9. Represent the City in matters related to the enforcement of building and zoning codes and property maintenance standards. 10. Provide advice on public employment matters.
