4.0 JACKET ONLY REQUIREMENTS The WFPE jacket only shall meet this section. 4.1 DESCRIPTION The front panels shall have a chest and radio pocket with microphone tabs. The back panels shall have back shoulder expansion pleats. The sleeves shall be full length with double elbow articulation pleats and adjustable cuff tabs. 4.2 COLOR The jacket shall be yellow in color. 4.3 FABRIC The jacket shall be made from the following fabric: 4.3.1 SIGMA 7 oz. blend of 45% Meta-Aramid, 17% Polyamide, 6% Para-Aramid, and 32% Lenzing® FR. Comfort twill. 4.4 CONSTRUCTION The jacket stitching shall use NFPA compliant flame-resistant thread. 4.5 HOOK AND LOOP Hook and loop shall be NFPA compliant. Hook and loop pieces shall be flame-resistant, beige in color, and have reinforced stitching for extra strength. 4.6 SIZING Sizes available shall include XS through 4XL. Sizing shall conform to minimum sizing requirements as required per NFPA. 4.7 LABELS Labeling and label materials shall be compliant with the applicable NFPA standards. Labels shall be flame-resistant and contain information pertaining to the WFPE’s certifications, manufacturer, size, style, serial number, date of manufacture, material composition, and country of origin. A barcode/QRC code shall be included that contains all the information stated above. Label shall be affixed to the interior front left panel, approximately 2 inches above the bottom hem, and in an area where friction will not affect the readability of the label print. 4.8 FRONT PANELS The front panel’s front length shall meet current NFPA minimum sizing requirements for protective upper torso garments. The center front seams of the panels shall fully conceal the zipper. 4.9 BACK PANELS The back panel’s back length shall meet current NFPA minimum sizing requirements for protective upper torso garments. The panels shall be a 3-piece design comprised of a middle panel and two side panels. The jacket shall have back expansion pleats to allow for increased shoulder mobility. The pleats shall measure approximately 2 inches wide and shall run vertically from the top of the shoulder to the waist. 4.10 ZIPPERED FRONT CLOSURE Zipper closure shall be NFPA compliant, mounted on black FR zipper tape and shall have a backing to prevent direct skin contact. The zipper shall extend from the bottom of the collar to a distance approximately 3 to 6 inches up from the bottom hem. The fronts shall fold over and be stitched approximately ½ inch from the folded edge and through all layers to conceal the zipper. 4.11 CHEST POCKET The jacket shall come standard with one (1) chest pocket with spade style flap, pen insert opening, and hook and loop closure system. The pocket shall be angled approximately 45 degrees for ergonomic access. One (1) hook piece stitched to the flap and measuring 1 inch wide by 2 inches long shall fasten to one (1) loop piece stitched to the pocket and of the same measurements. The pocket shall measure approximately 6-¾ inches high by 5-¾ inches wide. The flap shall measure approximately 3 inches high by 6 inches at the tip of spade and taper to approximately 2 inches high on the left and right side. Note: Flap may have an approximate 1-¼ inches wide gap left open for the pen insert. All stress points shall be reinforced.
