The purpose of this Request for Proposals (RFP) is to solicit submissions from qualified offerors for the provision of twenty-three (23) new current model year Type A Battery Electric Shuttle Buses. These vehicles must meet the specifications outlined below, as well as the operational, safety, and environmental requirements of the Virginia Port Authority. To include the applicable standards of the EPA Clean Ports Program: Zero-Emission Technology Deployment, current Federal EPA Emissions Standards, and the Build America, Buy America Act requirements for the model year in which they are produced. To support environmental and public health goals, buses must not contain hazardous substances. The selected supplier will be responsible for the manufacture, delivery, warranty coverage, training, and technical support throughout the warranty period. Vehicle Specifications: The Offeror shall supply a Type A battery electric Shuttle Bus that meets or exceeds the following minimum specifications: • Vehicle Type: Type A Shuttle Bus (Max GVWR 26,000 lbs.) • Seating Capacity: Minimum 18 passengers, Maximum 23 passengers • Maximum Length: 27’ • Wheelbase: Minimum 156”/ Maximum 190” • Interior Storage • Battery Capacity: Minimum 80 kWh • Range: Minimum 90 miles per full charge under typical operating conditions • Charging Compatibility: SAE J1772 (Level 2) and/or CCS1 (DC Fast Charging) • Charging Port Location: Front Grille • Brake System: Hydraulic • Heat Type: Driver and Cabin Electric • Data logger hardware or included telemetry software: Included Telemetry Software • Safety Features: • Electronic stability control, • Collision mitigation, • Backup camera, • Backup alarm, • Child check system, • Rear door, • Fire suppression system for the batteries and an onboard fire extinguisher, • Front and rear amber strobe/led warning lights- 2 front mounted (grille/bumper area and 2 rear mounted (body/bumper area) Lights are to function only when the vehicle is moving.
