a. Fort Barfoot Regional Training Institute (RTI) is a military schoolhouse. Among other professions this RTI trains Soldiers to operate and maintain heavy military trucks. Upon completion of the training the Soldiers are awarded a Military Occupational Skill (MOS) identifier of 88M. b. The 88MOC is a 2-mile driver’s course /trail that parallels Rt 40 on the northern side of the Fort that consists of 9 obstacles that the Soldier / Trainee must successfully negotiate to pass the course. One of these obstacles is called the Deep Sand Pit. c. This obstacle is an excavated area that is approximately 20 feet wide x 250’ long and 24” deep that is filled with sand. The current material is largely contaminated, which allows it to compact very tightly, basically, rendering this obstacle useless. d. Fort Barfoot will remove the existing material. e. The sand that we are specifying for this RFQ shall be a fine natural sand. f. The material must be well drained, resist compaction and moisture absorption. g. The proposal shall be based on 520 tons. h. Use 37 04’23.90” N - 77 55’16.80” W for delivery i. Submit a picture of the product that your company is bidding on that shows the texture of the sand.
