PROTECTION OF UNDERGROUND FACILITIES The Contractor's attention is directed to the necessity of making his own investigation in order to assure that no damage to existing structures, drainage lines, traffic signal conduits, etcetera, will occur. The Contractor shall notify Massachusetts DIG SAFE and procure a Dig Safe Number for each location prior to disturbing existing ground in any way. DISPOSAL OF EXCESS MATERIAL Excess materials obtained from any type of excavation, and all existing and other materials not required to be removed and stacked or needed for use on the project, as determined by the Engineer, shall become the property of the Contractor and disposed of subject to the regulations and requirements of local authorities governing the disposal of such materials, at no additional compensation. This shall include, but is not limited to, roadway asphalt, concrete and stumps. All excess materials shall be removed by the end of each workday. Stockpiling of excess materials on Town property shall not be permitted. DISPOSAL OF SURPLUS MATERIAL All existing and other materials not required or needed for use on the project, and not required to be removed, stacked, and delivered to the Town of Spencer and shall become the property of the Contractor and shall be removed from the site during the construction period and legally disposed of. No separate payment will be made for this work; all costs in connection therewith shall be included in the prices bid for various Contract items. All surplus materials shall be removed by the end of each workday. Stockpiling of surplus materials on Town property shall not be permitted.
