Funded projects must: 1. Meet a public purpose and fall within County authority to fund per NC General Statutes, to be affirmed and reviewed by the Nash County legal department prior to execution of a contract or funding agreement; 2. Identify and directly address a need related to reducing opioid overdoses and related deaths through treatment, recovery, harm reduction, and other life-saving programs; 3. Directly address health inequities, social drivers/determinants of health, and support equitable outcomes for the most impacted populations: a. “Health inequities are systematic differences in the health status of different population groups. These inequities have significant social and economic costs both to individuals and societies.”
