Mobile Area Water and Sewer System (MAWSS) operates a wastewater collection system, two (2) wastewater treatment plants, two (2) water treatment plants, and a water distribution system. These operations include the utilization of various pumps, including wet pit and dry pit submersible pumps (submersible pumps). Through the course of normal operations, these pumps experience failures and must be removed from service for evaluation and repair or replacement. This bid document intends to establish an annual contract for the evaluation and repair of submersible pumps generally of size 11 HP to and including 55 HP (excluding vertical turbine pumps and motors). MAWSS usually replaces 10 HP or less pumps when they need repair. On occasion, one or more of these smaller pumps may be repaired under this contract.
