Hennepin County’s Workers Compensation program is self-insured and self-administered. The County handles Minnesota Jurisdiction Internally, within the Workplace Safety and Workers’ Compensation Department of Human Resources. Hennepin County Workers Compensation handles around an estimated 1,500 claims a year. The expectations of both parties, includes but is not limited to the following: The County will identify the Workers Compensation Claim work, through an internal process. The County will notify the selected Proposer of the Workers Compensation Claim needs/work. The Selected Proposer will need to locate appropriately certified and/or licensed personnel, within 72 hours or sooner, of the County notification, to be available to start the work. The County will provide pertinent information, in order to perform the Workers Compensation Claim work. This includes but is not limited to our systems, feed. Etc. County will provide Workers Compensation claim management access to the County Workers Compensation claim applications, which will allow for accessing claim information, documents, diary system, claim notes, and financial information. The Selected Proposer will be responsible to place notes, documents, diary entries, payments, and other pertinent data into the County provided systems. Depending on the experience and credentials of the Selected Proposer assigned personnel, the assigned personnel may be responsible for attending meetings, which may include trainings, check-in, etc. Selected Proposer assigned personnel will be responsible for submitting a time sheet for hours worked to the County. The Selected Proposer will be responsible for performing services under the MN Statutes and Minnesota Workers Compensation Jurisdiction, includes but not limited to the following: The expected response time for informal requests or questions claim inquiries, via email or phone, will be 24 hours from the initial request. The expected response times for other inquiries will be within 24 hours of the County staff communication. The expected investigation times are subject to Minnesota Jurisdiction Statutory timelines. Payment or denials are to be determined within 14 days for Minnesota Workers Compensation Claims. The expected time to present resolutions will be as soon as possible. The Selected Proposer assigned personnel will be expected to report any, claims pursuits, settlement requests to the County Claims Manager via phone or email communication. The County Claims Manager will need to provide approval, before being able to offer any type of settlement. After a claim is settled, the Selected Proposer assigned personnel will be required to notify the County Claims Manager, via email communication. Claim work being managed by the Selected Proposer will be transferred to County staff upon completion. The County will notify the Selected Proposer, within 24 hours, when the identified work is no longer required.
