The project is a free-standing structure of approximately 380,000 gross square feet. The structure consists of shallow concrete foundations at the loading dock area and deep drilled pier (aka caisson) foundations for the main building. Cast-in-place concrete grade beams span between deep foundation elements. Slab-on-grade is heavily reinforced with welded wire fabric and receives a broom finish. Aggregate piers will be utilized to remediate undocumented fill below the building slab. Precast concrete box columns and steel columns support the floor and roof structures. Mechanical mezzanines occur at the North and South ends of the building, consisting of steel beams and slabs-on-metal deck. The roof structures consist of long span steel joists, custom trusses, and steel roof deck. Fireproofing of steel is required.
