Rigs/Tooling To Be Hoisted/Winched: i. Type 1 – Tracked Rig (see Figure 1) Only the drill rig will be hoisted; the hoist will not include the trailer. The rig shown in Figure 1 is a typical example, the actual rig may look different than that shown. The Contractor shall be able to hoist a 9’ x 7’ x 7’ tracked rig with a total weight of approximately 20,000 lbs., at least 20’ from the adjacent pavement. The Contractor shall be able to hoist a tracked rig horizontally from zero (0) degrees up to 90° from the center line of the heavy wrecker truck. Tracked rigs are typically equipped with lifting rings, one at each of the four corners of the rig. The Contractor shall be responsible for providing adequate rigging to lift any tracked rigs that do not have lifting rings equipped. Please note that the mast of the tracked rig, folded down for hoisting, typically extends approximately 8’ beyond the end of the 9’ x 7’ x 7’ rig. ii. Type 2--Skid Rig (see Figure 2). The skid rig and trailer may be hoisted as one unit or the rig may be hoisted alone, detached from the trailer. The Contractor shall be able to hoist a 8’ x 6’ x 6’ skid rig and trailer with a total weight of approximately 16,000 lbs., at least 20’ from the adjacent pavement.
