Successful Respondents must demonstrate a thorough understanding of and adherence to California P.O.S.T. standards for background investigations. C. Successful Respondents must be trained and experienced in conducting law enforcement background investigations following P.O.S.T. guidelines. D. Successful Respondents must incorporate the P.O.S.T. job dimensions into all investigations to ensure applicants are evaluated appropriately. 2.2 Comprehensive Investigation Process A. Successful Respondents shall conduct detailed reviews of an applicant's Personal History Statement (PHS), ensuring all sections are thoroughly analyzed for discrepancies, omissions, or concerning patterns, and follow up where necessary. B. Successful Respondents shall review criminal records, driving history, credit history, and financial stability. C. Successful Respondents shall interview past employers, co-workers, neighbors, and personal references to assess character, work ethic, and social behavior. D. Successful Respondents shall review background files, evaluations, and personnel files whenever applicable to gather comprehensive insights into the applicant's past conduct and behavior. E. Successful Respondents shall provide social media screening and a thorough online presence review must be conducted to identify potential concerns. F. Successful Respondents shall conduct home visits and neighborhood checks to assess the applicant's living environment and overall lifestyle when appropriate. 2.3 Timeliness and Communication A. Regular updates throughout the background process are required, including immediate notification if significant concerns arise. B. Successful Respondents shall provide clear timelines for completion and adhere to established deadlines unless an extension is justified and approved. 2.4 Reporting and Documentation A. All background investigation reports must be in P.O.S.T. required format, must be detailed, organized, and include a clear summary of findings with supporting documentation. B. Successful Respondents must use concise, unbiased language in their reporting, ensuring all concerns are well-documented and supported by evidence. 2.5 Professional Conduct A. Successful Respondents must maintain a professional demeanor at all times, treating applicants and references with respect while ensuring thorough questioning and fact-finding.
