A. Radiology Director services shall include, but not be limited to, the following: i. Provide oversight of quality, radiation safety, and technical aspects of radiologic procedures performed on-site. ii. Conduct scheduled on-site annual visit to review procedural and technical issues with Radiology department staff. iii. Conduct scheduled informal on-site radiology conferences with DSH medical staff to review radiologic studies. iv. Provide clinical oversight of DSH Radiology Department performance improvement plan and approval of X-ray Policy and Procedure Manual. v. Provide Image Processing Quality Assurance (QA). Ensuring images are critiqued as to adequacy of collimation; evidence of gonadal shielding (as appropriate), proper identification (patient ID, L/R markers, date, etc.), suitability of exposure technique, and positioning correctness. vi. Assume written responsibility as the designated person having responsibility for, and control of, quality, radiation safety, and technical aspects of all X-ray examinations and procedures (Health & Safety Code, sec 114850(g)). vii. Radiology Director shall not provide supervision of civil service employees. Personnel monitoring shall be consistent with the written guidelines of the X-ray Policy and Procedure Manual. The Radiology Director shall review all radiation monitoring reports. viii. Conduct annual documented review of the radiation protection program (10 CFR 20 sec. 20.1101). B. Physicians providing services under this Agreement shall possess and maintain certification in Radiology, in the specialty of Diagnostic Radiology or Radiation Oncology, issued by the American Board of Physician Specialties. C. Physicians providing services under this Agreement shall be licensed by the California Department of Consumer Affairs (DCA) and have California Medical Board certification in Diagnostic Radiology or Radiation Oncology. D. Physicians providing services under this Agreement shall be licensed by the California Department of Consumer Affairs, Medical Board of California (MBC), with certification as X-ray Supervisor and Operator issued by the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) Radiologic Health Branch (RHB). E. Physicians providing services under this Agreement shall be registered with the United States Department of Justice, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).
