The contractor shall be aware that FDACS is operating under a Pesticide Generic Permit (PGP) NPDES PGP Coverage Number – FLG510023-1WPG, which has certain recordkeeping requirements. Records of equipment calibration and maintenance performed must be maintained by the Contractor and provided to the Department upon request. Aerial Applications 1. Contractor must abide by the aerial application restrictions and recordkeeping requirements as outlined in Chapter 388, F.S., and in Chapter 5E-13, F.A.C. 2. Contractor must provide Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and FDACS Aerial Public Health Pest Control licensure documentation for each applicator upon request of the Department. 3. Contractor must utilize pilots that meet all requirements for aerial applications of pesticides and follow all rules and guidelines set forth under the FAA. 4. Contracted pilots must be trained in the use of Night Vision Goggles (NVGs) for night flying and application capabilities. 5. Contractor must follow all application directions and other pesticide label requirements. 6. Contractor must use equipment suitable for aerial application of Naled, or Department selected adulticide in accordance with label directions to include: a. Multiengine fixed wing aircraft that can operate in compliance with FAR Part 137.51 (a) and (b) and capable of maintaining level flight when loaded with insecticide in the event one engine fails. b. Aircraft capable of treating 50,000 acres or more per 24-hour period. c. Aircraft equipped with a dry-break coupling device for loading pesticides and capable for treating via ultra-low volume (ULV) dispersal of insecticides. d. Aircraft equipped with aerial spray guidance system and rotary atomizers. e. Aircraft equipped with automatic flow control to maintain the proper pesticide flow throughout all airspeeds. f. Aircraft equipped with on board GPS recording navigational equipment which can provide a printed and electronic record of the flight path, area treated, and spray on and off for each application mission. 7. Contractor shall provide operations from an airport facility with 24-hour security and with access limited to authorized personnel and submit to FDACS information on security procedures prior to operations beginning. FDACS reserves the right to halt operation if security or safety procedures are deemed to be unsatisfactory. 8. Contractor shall provide all support for all aerial applications.
