The selected firm is expected to provide support with the following: • BNSF coordination and connections regarding existing main line layout and terminal interactions with crossings in the area. • Review of design concepts • Design should accommodate multiple types of cargo (autos/containers/bagged cargo) to not limit terminals activity and future opportunities. • Site survey review, and other data gathered by the rail spur construction project. • Site evaluation including development of site use and layout alternatives (including the terminal, the terminal entrance, and the “logpond” (aka “cargo support area”) upland area adjacent to the terminal. • Review comprehensive plans and technical specifications and provide feedback on alternatives. • Assist in developing a maintenance program for the rail project. • In a subsequent phase of work, the selected firm may be called upon for assistance with inspection and post construction services. • BNSF organizational structure and contacts to facilitate efficient communication and feedback on the project. • Experience working with and deep knowledge of class 1 railroads. • Marketing rail opportunities.
