Incorporated as a Charter City is 1909, the City of Huntington Beach is located on the Orange County Coast with a current population of approximately 195,000 residents over a land area of 31.9 square miles. Operating under a Council-Manager form of government, Huntington Beach provides a full range of municipal services with a current fiscal year budget of $527 million (all funds) and a General Fund budget of $300 million. Services are provided by a workforce of about 1,000 fulltime equivalent positions. The City Treasurer’s Office, headed by an elected City Treasurer, is responsible for handing the receipt, collection, disbursement, custody, and safekeeping of all city funds. The City’s current banking relationship is with US Bank. The City has determined that a review of the services offered by qualified financial institutions is appropriate at this time. The City’s intent is to maintain banking services with one bank to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of service offering while minimizing administrative costs. Customer service and responsiveness, data analytics, ease of systems use and integration, and effective relationship management are key factors the City will be considering in selecting a service provider for a new contract.
