Proposed work includes the installation of a new Class 52 10” Cement Lined Ductile Iron (C.L.D.I.). Intake pipe system that will extend 400 feet +/- out into the pond, where shown on the attached plans. The new pipe shall connect inside the existing gatehouse. Contractor shall furnish and install any/all pipe connections and valving as necessary to allow for the new 10” C.L.D.I. intake pipe to be utilized independently from the existing 16” intake pipe. Contractor shall perform all work required in the pump-house accordingly and extend the new pipe out from the gatehouse through the lawn area and rip-rap embankment and extending out approximately 400 feet into the pond as shown. Contractor shall backfill, compact any/all trenching and restore the rip-rap in-kind. The installation of the intake pipe in the pond will consist of setting the pipe generally as shown on the plans and associated report from Underwater Solutions, copy attached. Concrete footings shall be installed to support the pipe system in the pond, with the pipe profile following 2’ +/- above the pond bottom profile. Contractor shall use corrosion resistant metal strapping to secure the newly installed pipe in place to the new footings. The end of the intake pipe will be upturned and fitted with a wedge wire screen with airburst capability, as shown on the plan (or approved equal). It is required that the contractor is self sufficient for power (i.e. generator).
