The Department of Social Services (DSS) is requesting proposals from qualified vendors to provide paternity testing as outlined in Family Code Section 7550-7558. The determination of paternity in DSS assists in the provision of Child Welfare Services. The contract will have an initial term of three years, with the possibility of extending the service for up to two additional one-year periods. The Department of Social Services will require a detailed invoice with each of the DSS case numbers listed with the dollar amount charged. The test volume averages around 15 per month. Currently the testing is done by Laboratory Corporation of America Holdings, using buccal swabs or blood draw, and the fee is $50.00 per individual for either. The current agreement terminates on 08/31/2025.
