ITEM #1, ASBESTOS ABATEMENT The item “Asbestos Abatement” shall include the complete removal of all asbestos containing material (ACM) in accordance with attachment “A” of these specifications and in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations. There is no friable ACM identified in this building; floor tiles shall be removed by the heat method and shall not be rendered friable during removal. All work required to remove the floor tiles shall be in accordance with these specifications and NJ Department of Health Guidelines for the removal of non-friable vinyl asbestos tiles. The abatement work would not be governed by N.J.A.C. 5:23-8, commonly known as “Subchapter 8”. The owner will provide detailed abatement plans and specifications to the successful bidder for their use in obtaining the required permits. Payment for this item will be made on a Lump Sum (LS) basis as shown on the Form of Proposal. This price shall include all costs, including but not limited to Permit Fees, removal and disposal of all identified or assumed ACM, OSHA compliance, and all other work in connection therewith and incidental thereto for the complete abatement of ACM prior to demolition operations. ITEM #2, ALTERNATE #1, , REMOVE/DISPOSE MATERIALS All remaining materials and equipment located in or on the building including Shelves, Desks, and Bookcases shall be removed and disposed of in accordance with any applicable regulations. Payment for this item will be made on a Lump Sum basis as shown on the Form of Proposal. This price shall include all costs, including but not limited to removal and disposal of remaining materials and equipment prior to demolition and all other work in connection therewith and incidental thereto.
