Phase 1 Downtown Improvements will include full reconstruction of 3 blocks of Downtown Perry: Warford St. from Highway 144 to 3rd St., 2nd St. between Willis Ave. and Warford St.: including the intersections of 2nd St. with Willis Ave. and Warford St., and reconstruction of the north/south alley between Warford St. and Lucinda St. between Highway 144 and 2nd St. This effort will include 12,443 SY of removals, 5,100 SY of concrete street and driveway installation, 670 SY or integrally colored concrete street intersection pavement, 2,140 SY of concrete sidewalk, 5,108 SF of concrete paver installation, and 2,185 SY of permeable paver installation for on-street parking and parking in a reconstructed public parking lot. Public utilities within the project area will also be replaced, and will include 1,257 LF of sanitary sewer main, 27 sanitary sewer service stubs, 1,130 LF of water main and 1,712 LF of stormwater sewer. Additionally, 27 streetlights and 489 linear feet of festoon lighting will be installed, along with upgrades to existing electrical control cabinets. Overall, the project will contain 392 CY of structural soil to support 19 overstory trees, 46 CY of engineered soil for bioretention cells, 4 ornamental trees, 24 shrubs, 1,910 perennials and 11 SQ of sod.
