Specifications include, but are not limited to: A) Liquid Alum; Liquid aluminum shall meet or exceed AWWA specifications and be approved for treating domestic drinking water. It shall be priced and paid for on a wet ton basis at 48% strength. Chemical shall be shipped in full tank truckload. Estimated quantity needed for the fiscal year is 200 Wet Tons. B) Caustic Soda – Liquid; Caustic Soda shall meet or exceed AWWA specifications and be approved for treating domestic drinking water. Shall be bid on a Wet Ton basis at 25% Solution. Chemical shall be shipped in full tank truckload. Estimated quantity is 325WT (125 Wet Tons to WTP & 200 Wet Tons to WWTP). *Membrane Facility – 50% NSF 60 to be delivered in 55-gallon drums. The estimated quantity for the fiscal year is six (6) for the Membrane Facility. C) Fluoride; Liquid at 23% - 26% in 55 Gallon Drums. Estimated quantities for the fiscal year are 6.0 Wet Tons. D) Sodium Hypochlorite; Liquid chlorine shall meet or exceed AWWA specifications B- 300-92 Chemical shall be shipped in full tank truckload. The estimated quantity needed for the fiscal year will be 13,000 gallons. *Membrane Facility – 16% NSF 60 to be delivered in 55-gallon drums. The estimated quantity is five (5) for the Membrane Facility. E) Powdered Activated Carbon; Powdered activated carbon shall conform to AWWA standard B600-78 or current revision. Estimated annual usage is 8.0 Tons to be shipped in 800lb. supersacks or larger. Minimum order of carbon will be 2 to 4 Super Sacks. F) Hydrated Lime; Hydrated lime, water purification grade, shall meet or exceed AWWA specifications B-202- 77. The brand name and chemical analysis of the lime quoted shall be submitted with bid proposal shipped in 800lb. supersacks or larger. The estimated quantity for the fiscal year is 26 Dry Tons. Used at the Water Plant. The minimum order of lime will be 2 to 4 Super Sacks.
