A. Contractor shall furnish all labor, tools, materials and equipment necessary to cut weeds and grass, and remove debris from various lots. Household trash and debris shall be removed and bagged prior to mowing operation. Bagged materials shall be placed at the curb or street side for removal by the City during normal collection route. Disposal of trash and debris that cannot be bagged shall be the responsibility of the contractor and shall be promptly removed from the property and transported to the Greensville County Landfill. The contractor shall submit copies of landfill receipts for reimbursement. B. All grass, weeds and underbrush shall be cut as close to flush as possible in relation to the terrain. Properties shall be mowed to the curb, sidewalk, property line or street abutment and around structures (e.g., utility poles, guy wires, signs and other similar obstacles) in a manner that leaves no straggling weeds. This may require the use of small equipment such as string trimmers or push mowers. C. Removal of small growth (e.g., trees, shrubs, vines and other similar volunteer growth that has been allowed to grow wild) to a neat appearance. This “clearing” shall extend to the curb, sidewalk, property line or street abutment and around structures (e.g., utility poles, guy wires, signs and other similar obstacles) in such a complete manner that leaves property finish graded with no straggling weeds. This may require the use of small hand equipment such as chainsaws, shovels, picks, cutting devises and string trimmers. D. Contractor shall be issued a “Notice to Proceed” by e-mail from the Buildings and Property Maintenance Official, which will include the location of the property upon which the work is to be performed and the nature of the work required, i.e., removal of grass/weeds, removal of debris removal. E. Contractor shall be assigned work on an as needed basis and shall, in no event work be performed without having first been notified and issued a written “Notice to Proceed” by email. F. All work set forth in the “Notice to Proceed” shall be completed within seven (7) days from the date of “Notice to Proceed”. The Building and Property Maintenance Official, upon request, may grant extensions of these provisions in cases of rain delay/extreme weather event or any other extenuating circumstances; all requests shall be made in writing promptly to the designated code compliance supervisor prior to the expiration of the 7 days from the date of the Notice to Proceed. G. All Contractor work shall be conducted under the general direction of Building and Property Maintenance Official and is subject to inspection to ensure strict compliance with the terms of this contract.
