Will need to be completed prior to the Public Works Department Hauling off snow. This usually occurs after 11:00 PM at the conclusion of falling snow events. Part of this removal process is windrowing the snow away from the curb once the sidewalk is cleared for snow haul off operations. • Deicing Materials: Contractor to supply and apply de-icing materials suitable for concrete and brick. • Equipment Notice: NO metal/steel cutting edges are permitted on any sidewalks. Parking Deck/ Garage • Snow Clearing: Removal of snow and ice from the upper deck and other levels as needed. o It is the intent for the Village to close the upper deck prior to snow and ice events and leave it closed until the event is over. o Snow will need to be hauled down thru the garage to Duane Street and stacked as there is no location to dump the snow over the edge from the top deck. o Snows of 1” or less than 2” on an as needed basis can be piled in approved locations and hauled off within 24 hours to the village offsite location off St. Charles Road. • Height Restriction: There is a 7’-0” height restriction along with axel load weight restrictions. • Snow Hauling: Snow Hauling as needed and directed by Village Staff. o For storms 2” and larger the contractor will need to either have the snow off the deck prior to the Village hauling snow out of the CBD or will have to haul the snow off to the St. Charles Road site. o In Larger storms the contractor maybe required to haul snow off the top deck during storm events to keep the overall load down on the structure. Depending on space availability and Public Works approval, the contractor may be able to stack snow in a designated area on Duane St just east of the civic center entrance. This will generally occur during larger 3” + storms. • Equipment Note: NO metal/steel cutting edges are permitted in the garage. • Deicing Materials: Materials shall be suitable for use on parking decks.
