SPR is requesting Proposals from qualified general contractors to provide General Contractor/Construction Manager (GC/CM) services for Decarbonization Package One, which is a bundled project that includes preconstruction services and construction of decarbonizing existing fossil fuel using equipment, improving general energy performance, and electrifying five SPR facilities, in order to transform the facilities' energy profiles. • Decommission and properly dispose of or salvage all fossil fuel powered HVAC equipment, for example: gas boiler, gas heating and ventilating unit, air handling unit, gas water heater, gas furnace, unit heater, etc. • Structural or architectural evaluation might be needed at some existing equipment spaces, which might result in some building alteration, improvement or replacement, in order to prepare the spaces for new system installation. • Install new HVAC equipment that can be tied into the rest of the system and will fit in the existing space, for example, a heat pump with Dedicated Outdoor Air System and Energy Recovery Ventilator. • Provide cooling for some of the spaces that currently don’t have AC.
