1. Removal of Culvert: 1.1 The vendor shall cut the existing pavement that is directly above the existing culvert. The area of pavement that is to be removed is 5’ wide and the full width of the entrance to the parking lot. 1.2 The vendor shall remove the existing pavement and soil from above the culvert area and place it an area that will not impede access to the warehouse parking lot or warehouse. 1.3 The vendor shall remove the existing full length of current culvert from the exposed trench. 2. Preparing for Installation. 2.1 The vender shall grade the soil in a manner that will allow for decline to allow proper drainage of water through the culvert. The culvert shall drain toward the Kanawha River this would be draining toward the rear of the WVABCA property. 2.2 The vendor ensure that the trench is dug in a manner as to make the following accommodations for installation of the new culvert: 2.2.1.1 The trench shall accommodate the installation of three 30” by 20’ sections of culvert with two culvert couplers. The pipe shall be just below the current ditch line to allow for proper water flow. 2.2.1.2 The trench shall accommodate for the return of materials and packing/tamping of said materials above the culvert (soil, clay, stone, and new pavement). 3. Culvert Ends: 3.1 The culvert ends shall have riprap stone (Class 1 – 6”-12”) lining the bottom of the ditch at both ends of the culvert. The stone shall start at the lip of the culvert (both ends) and extend along the bottom of the ditch for approximately 48 inches.
