Tank Information: The structure is a 6,000,000-gallon water storage reservoir with a diameter of 160 ft. and a sidewall height of 39 ft. located at 3706 N. Kennicott Avenue in Arlington Heights, Illinois. The work includes: The work will be performed in two phases and will return to service between phases. Fall 2025: Wet Interior: Abrasive blast clean to a SSPC-SP10 near-white metal standard. Apply a three (3) coat zinc epoxy system. The cathodic protection system is to be removed and reinstalled by the Owner’s vendor (or approved equal), coordination and payment is the Contractor’s responsibility. Repairs: 1) Install deflector bars on the draw pipe. 2) Overflow discharge modification. 3) Replace roof vents with pressure vacuum vents. 4) Install roof handrails at the wet interior roof hatches and vents located near the outer edge of the roof. 5) Replace roof stiffener supports at the sidewall. 6) Weld roof stiffener connections. 7) Replace corroded roof stiffeners. 8) Replace corroded roof stiffener support beams. 9) Center column modification. 10) Install a drain valve. 11) Install a penetration on the roof for a level sensor. 12) Install brackets for electrical cabinet and conduit. 13) Install grounding. Spring 2026: Exterior: Abrasive blast clean to a SSPC-SP6 commercial standard within containment. Apply a four (4) coat zinc epoxy urethane system. Caulk the baseplate. Foundation: Repair cracks. Abrasive blast clean and apply a two (2) coat epoxy system. Mixer: Install a mechanical mixer. Repairs: 1) Replace the sidewall manway gaskets. 2) Replace the sidewall manway nuts and bolts. 3) Install a gasket on the wet interior roof hatches.
