1. Have professional experience with preference of school experience interpretation 2. Have documented orientation, training, and competencies on the interpretation requirements specified by the child’s educational placement. i. Be knowledgeable of WCPSS guidelines regarding use of social media and appropriate use of seclusions/restraint in the school setting. ii. Understand WCPSS expectations regarding their role as a member of the student’s 504 team. 3. Have a completed health clearance that includes pre-employment physical and TB skin testing. 4. Meet agency’s and WCPSS conditions of employment. i. Prior to an ASL interpretation professional providing services, a current WCPSS Sexual Offender Registry Certification Form (Attachment A of the contract) and completed, marked “eligible,” WCPSS background check (request is made via Attachment B of the contract) are required. These are conducted annually. 5. Provide interpretation in a manner consistent with the level of care and skill ordinarily exercised by others practicing under similar conditions. 6. Perform services in compliance with applicable laws, statutes, ordinances, codes, orders, rules and regulations. 7. Adhere to confidentiality and shall not share information pertaining to students other than the one served with anyone outside the school environment. 8. Report immediately any incident or circumstance which may affect the health or safety of a student, other students or school personnel.
