The Vendor pre-inspection crew will visit a sewer segment before it is scheduled for a CCTV or Sonar inspection to locate the access manholes and confirm accessibility. Manhole covers that have been paved over or are otherwise difficult to remove will be reported to the Philadelphia Water Department to be opened. 2.3.2 A camera will be lowered down the manholes and aimed into the sewer segments to be inspected. If there are no obstructions, the sewers can typically be observed at least 25 feet in both directions. Major issues with manhole integrity will be noted and reported to the Philadelphia Water Department. If necessary, a physical inspection of the manhole(s) will be completed in lieu of the use of a camera.
