Richmond County is soliciting bids from qualified contractors for the turnkey design installation of an emergency generator for the County’s existing Office Building located in Warsaw, VA. Project Scope and Objectives: The generator is to be located on the south end of the building on a concrete pad designed and provided by Contractor. The generator feed line will run up the side of the brick exterior and penetrate the building attic. The feed line will run through the attic space to a point where it would enter the electrical room. Because of space limitations, the ATS will be located outside the building at a location shown on the scoping drawings. The generator feed will connect to the line side of the ATS. The load side of the CT cabinet, which is in the electrical room, will connect to the line side of the ATS. The load side of the ATS will need to be routed to the electrical room where the MDP is located. Turnkey Responsibilities; Site Assessment: The contractor should perform a detailed site assessment to determine the best location for the generator and its mounting pad on the exterior of the building and any site grading and stabilization required to divert and manage stormwater runoff. Design and engineering: The contractor will be responsible for the design and engineering of the entire system for the purpose of obtaining building permits. That design would include but not necessarily be limited to the generator sizing, concrete pad design, ATS location and interconnection, fuel tank, wiring (external and internal) and (above and below ground), wall penetrations, and any necessary modifications to existing infrastructure and coordination with Dominion Energy. Equipment procurement: The contractor will source all necessary equipment, including the generator, ATS, fuel tank, wiring, and any other necessary components. Installation: The contractor will manage all aspects of the installation process, including coordinating with other trades, obtaining necessary permits, and ensuring compliance with local codes and regulations. The contractor will coordinate any building electrical service interruptions with the County to assure administrative functions are maintained and protected. Testing and commissioning: The contractor will perform all necessary testing and commissioning to ensure the generator is functioning correctly and safely. Training and documentation: The contractor will provide training on the operation and maintenance of the generator with the assigned County Personnel and will provide all necessary documentation.
