1. City staff is contacted by property owner who has questions regarding tree health and maintenance of their tree(s). 2. After discussion with property owner, staff determines that professional consultation by an arborist is needed. 3. Staff will obtain property owner contact information. 4. Staff contacts arborist to provide summary of issue and provide arborist with property owner’s contact information. 5. Arborist will contact property owner and coordinate site visit. Initial contact to property owner from arborist shall be within 24 hours (not including weekends). 6. Arborist shall schedule a site visit and perform one or more of the following tasks: • Tree Enhancement/Preservation – Provide advice to property owners with concerns about tree health or guidance to save trees. • Tree placement guidance – Provide guidance to property owners who are interested in installing new trees on site. Guidance includes assisting in selecting proper tree species, location selection, planting techniques, watering requirements, etc. Arborist will supplement information provided through the other tree programs including the Sacramento Tree Foundation program. • Arborist Report Service – In situations where a Tree Permit is required, the Arborist will provide property owner with an Arborist Report that satisfies the reporting requirement of the City’s Tree Preservation and Protection regulations.
