Norway 1 Native Prairie Bank Easement (NPB) Mulching and Mowing Brush (45 acres) • Conduct Brush mowing on up to 45 acres at the Norway 1 NPB • This site was brush mowed in August of 2024, stem diameters are anticipated to be very small and woody stem density is expected to be low. • Mulch or mow all willow, young aspen and other brush species within the areas outlined on the attached maps. All standing woody vegetation will be mulched or mowed to within 4 inches of ground level. • Brush mowing must be completed between July 21st – September 15th, 2025. • The basal diameter of aspen and brush is predominantly less than 1 inch. • Equipment required will consist of a tracked skid steer (min. 100 gross engine HP, 35.0 gpm hydraulic flow to cutting head), tracked crawler (min 135. gross engine HP). Machine must be equipped with tracks or high flotation tires or a combination thereof; a conventional wheeled machine will not be allowed.). • Due to the stem diameters of brush on this site, we recommend the contractor to utilize a heavy-duty rotary brush mower (i.e. Davco/Diamond or equivalent). • Debris will be scattered, and debris piles will not be allowed. No scattering of heavy debris within 30’ of a boundary, road, or trail. • Work will be conducted during the growing season. The contractor must operate equipment in a manner that minimizes rutting or significant ground disturbance as determined by the Project Supervisor. • Mulching and mowing operations can begin no earlier than July 21st, 2025, and work must be completed by September 15, 2025. The Project Supervisor reserves the right to suspend operations due to unsuitable ground conditions resulting from significant precipitation events where significant ground disturbance may occur.
