The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), District Four (D4) is conducting a project at the intersection of State Road (SR) 7/US 441 and SR 870/Commercial Boulevard in the cities of Tamarac, North Lauderdale, and Lauderdale Lakes in Broward County, Florida. The project proposes to improve mobility, operational, and safety improvements within the study area. The study area is along Commercial Boulevard from west of Florida's Turnpike to NW 37th Avenue (approximately 1.5 miles) and along SR 7 from NW 44th Street to Prospect Road (approximately 1 mile), for a total project length of approximately 2.5 miles. The intersection of SR 7 and Commercial Boulevard is currently signalized. Both corridors are six-lane divided Urban Principal Arterials that are critical to the movement of people and goods within the Southeast Florida region. According to the SR 7 at Commercial Boulevard Draft Feasibility Study, the existing right-of-way (ROW) on SR 7 is approximately 150 to 200 feet. The existing ROW along Commercial Boulevard is approximately 120 to 130 feet. The existing land uses immediately adjacent to the study area represent a mixture of commercial/retail and office uses, with residential land uses located immediately beyond these areas.
