Please note: This is a Sole Source Notification. East Stroudsburg University is requesting sole source approval for the purchase of the Roche MagNA Pure 96, an automated benchtop DNA/RNA purification system supporting magnetic bead extraction protocols. This equipment will be used specifically for research purchases and future forensic applications. This equipment must support validation for use in clinical laboratories and forensic investigations. The equipment is supported by service agreements through Roche Scientific. Roche Scientific is the sole distributor and manufacturer of the MagNA Pure 96. Other equipment similar to the MagNA Pure 96 is the IDEAL96 by Lab Gene Scientific, a workstation. This instrument does not have UV lamps required for decontamination post-processing. Another instrument, the Applied Biosystems Kingfisher, which is not certified with clinical IVD technology and does not have the contamination dual arm.
