This project consists of the replacement of a portion of the hot water system. The existing system is made up of four water heaters and three storage tanks serving the laundry, kitchen, and the suites (two of the boilers and one storage tank loop). The two water heaters and storage tanks serving the laundry and kitchen have failed. The operational water heaters and tank have been repiped and are now carrying the entire load of the facility. A new system design will replace the failed equipment with the heat source being provided by a closed loop boiler system. This system shall consist of three boilers (1250 MBH each, gasfired), three dedicated boiler pumps, two heat exchangers (double wall, NSF approved for domestic water use), an expansion tank, pot feeder, and various valves and control components. Water treatment chemicals used for the closed loop shall be food grade compatible. Boilers shall be staged based on demand load to save energy. Boilers shall draw intake air from existing areaway, while the flue(s) shall be Type B venting through the roof utilizing the existing vent opening...
