The Washington County Landfill owned and operated by Washington County, Colorado is located approximately 11 miles south of Akron, Colorado. Washington County is requesting bids from interested geosynthetic lining installation contractors for the construction of Phase 5 of the West Disposal Cell at the Washington County Landfill. The synthetic lining portion of the project is anticipated to begin on or aroundJuly 22, 2025 and includes construction a sump and of approximately 4.1 acres of landfill disposal cell area. The sump will be lined with GCL and HDPE, have a perforated lateral HDPE pipe in its base, a solid HDPE riser pipe from its base to the southern edge of Phase 5, and a geotextile wrapped around granular drainage material. The Phase 5 floor outside the sump will be lined with GCL, HDPE, and a geocomposite drainage layer.
